Mila Mineva is a lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and Program Director at the Centre for Liberal Strategies. Her research interests are in the fields of the sociology of culture, media, and popular culture. Mila Mineva is actively involved with several Bulgarian academic publications – Critique & Humanism journal, the online cultural studies publication Seminar BG, as well as the Yearbook of the Department of Sociology.

Associate Professor Dr. Elitsa Dimitrova works in the field of socio-demographic research with a focus on fertility and reproductive behavior, changing family models, demographic and family policy, adolescent health and risk behaviors, social inequalities in population health status, and more. She specializes in the methodology of social and demographic research and teaches courses in demography, as well as quantitative and qualitative research methods.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Elena Darieva

Elena Darieva is a sociologist with over 25 years of experience in electoral, social, and marketing research. She is the author of analytical and political commentary for television and radio, with numerous publications on European integration, youth policies, and political attitudes. Her scientific interests include the development of new indicators for marketing research, as well as the study of value orientations and the lifestyles of young people and women in Bulgaria. She holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” She is the manager and founder of the National Sociological Agency “NASOKA” and a co-founder of the “Impact Design Center,” an association focused on social development and the promotion of positive social change.

 

 

 

 

 

Chief Assistant Professor Veselina Kachakova

Veselina Kachakova is a Chief Assistant Professor in the “Knowledge Society: Science, Education and Innovation” department at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. She graduated in Sociology from St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, later earning a Master’s degree in “Regulations and Standards in Medicine” from New Bulgarian University and a PhD in “Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy” from the Medical University – Sofia. Between 2007 and 2015, she worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant, Program Assistant, and Municipal Program Manager in HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention and control programs at the Ministry of Health. In 2016, she completed the Teach for Bulgaria training program and gained three years of experience as a teacher at the Georgi Sava Rakovski Vocational High School in the town of Kostenets. Her research interests include innovations and values in education, digital learning and opportunities for postgraduate education, civic education and global citizenship, health education, and social medicine.

Svetlomir Zdravkov is a Chief Assistant Professor in the “Knowledge Society: Science, Education and Innovation” department at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Dimitar Panchev is a criminologist (BA Hons, MA Hons) and sociologist (PhD), Chief Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and National Security at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. Associate Professor Dr. Georgi Medarov

Georgi Medarov is a lecturer in the Department of Economic Sociology at the University of National and World Economy and an Associate Professor in the Communities and Identities department at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. He is also a member of the Collective for Social Interventions and the Institute for Critical Theories of Supermodernity. His research interests are in the fields of historical and general sociological theory, social inequalities, and ethnic minorities.
